Where to Auction Ball Pythons (2026)
Updated
The auction picture changed twice in two years: MorphMarket, the largest reptile marketplace, added native auctions in January 2024, and the dedicated auction sites — BSR Auctions, Reptile-Auctions.com — went dormant by mid-2025. That leaves two working venues.
Venue 1: MorphMarket auctions
MorphMarket launched native on-platform auctions on January 11, 2024, in two formats: traditional auctions running 2 hours to 5 days, and live auctions during seller-hosted live events. Because it's attached to the largest reptile marketplace, this is the only auction venue with built-in buyer traffic. Descriptions of it as classifieds-only predate 2024. Details on the MorphMarket page.
Venue 2: Palmstreet live and long-form auctions
Palmstreet (palmstreet.app) has hosted reptile sales since November 14, 2024. Auctions come in two shapes: live-stream auctions — you show the animal on camera and viewers bid in real time — and, since late 2025, long-form auctions (24/48/72-hour listings), the better fit for higher-priced morphs. The caveat: its buyer base skews plants and collectibles, so plan to bring your own audience. Details on the Palmstreet page.
Dormant or prohibited venues
| Venue | Reality (as of 2026-07-11) |
|---|---|
| BSR Auctions (bsrauctions.com) | Timed auctions dormant — every auction visible on the site ended by mid-2025 (latest end date August 1, 2025). Still online with a few fixed-price Buy-It-Now listings. |
| Reptile-Auctions.com ("Global Reptile Auctions") | Exists, but appears dormant — its own pages report no active auctions as of July 2026. Not a working marketplace. |
| eBay | Prohibits live reptiles. Its live-animal allowlist covers fish, bait, bees, and insects — snakes have never been on it. |
| Whatnot | Prohibits reptiles. Its only live-animal exceptions are aquatic (fish, coral, snails, live bait). |
Which auction format fits your animal?
- Established morph, no following: MorphMarket traditional auction — the bidders are already on the platform.
- High-end animal, you have an audience: Palmstreet long-form auction, promoted to your following.
- Volume of mid-range animals, comfortable on camera: live auctions — either platform's live format.
Before you list: auction sales are still sales — the shipping and state-law rules on the selling page apply (no USPS, certified FedEx/UPS programs, Lacey Act on destination-state legality).
